Anger and tears filled the streets of Dublin today at the loss of 15 year old Toyosi Shitta-bey. Family, friends, Christian and Muslim groups, trades unions, political parties and many African organisations marched to say never again, that racist killings have no place in a multicultural ireland |

By the way you didn't tell us are you waiting for the police to find out if it was racially motivated or not? Do you expect someday George Bush to take responsibility for the war crimes committed in Iraq? Are you waiting for the day where the Americans will apologize for Guantanamo? Dead people don't speak you know. Did you know that the police does nothing but to protect groups like KKK, the profit industries?
The only good fascist is the hanged.
@Fiery S
It was not a fascist attack which means that it was not made by fascist thugs or neonazi skinheads as it happens in Poland, Russia, Greece, Germany and other places around Europe and US. But definitely there was a racist element to that which reflect the big problems that have rooted in the Irish society. If you are not a foreigner in Ireland you cannot understand.
Whatever it was, he was only 15 years old. Let's say it was not a racially motivated murder, why people should have to die like that? Their family dried to escape from bombs, wars, poverty and crime and he finally lost their son in... Dublin. This is even more outrageous for our "civilized" western world.
We still don't know if it was definately a racist attack or not.
I'm sorry but that's nothing. The Irish racists do not care if you do one or even 10 rallies. They will organize a new attack. Racism in Ireland is like a plague. I always tried to warn people abt this and most of the replies I got was "go back to your country". Now I see the situation is getting worse cause it looks like the majority of Irish silently support the racists. It would happen someday and I think the worse is yet to come cause there are people who do not realize how serious thing racism could be. Just have a look in the Irish youtube, it is overcrowded by racist videos. It looks like posting videos on youtube against immigration became a national sport, and I don't think that the anarchy movement, the left wing parties realized how high are the levels of racism in Ireland. Lack of action of course, this is what needs to be blamed.
It was a nice march, with a nice mix of people from various ethnic backgrounds. There was also a nice mix of people representing different groupings such as the TUI, the Ballymun family resource centre/drop-in centre, seomra spraoi etc.
RIP Toyosi
