Senegalese perfroming artist Woz Kaly will bring his unique blend of world music, Paris cool and acoustic rythms to De Burgos of Augustine St. on Saturday night, June 19th next. A regular on the famous parisian cabaret circuit, Kaly perfoms with Aux Trois mailletz in Paris’ Golden Triangle. Influenced by both the Wolof and Mandingo cultures and traditions, WOZ KALY's performances exude emotion and generosity.
Also performing on the night are Galway’s own A Band Called Wanda who are fast garnering a strong reputation for their enigmatic, energetic performances. The quartet, influenced by classic songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Leonard Cohen and The Band have created their own blend of Folk' n' Roll incorporating fiddles, brass and woodwind and have performed alongside The Hothouse Flowers, Alabama 3 and The Saw Doctors. Joining them will be another Galway act, The Followers of Otis. Having supported the likes of O’Death and David Kitt and crediting influences from Brian Wilson to Blind Wille Johnson their acoustic take on folk and Gospel has been a fresh addition to the UK and Irish festival circuit.
The very wonderful, world fusion DJ Ben O”Faolain will bring his much loved set from his Aras na nGael residency to round off the night.
