Jump To Comment: 6 5 4 3 2 1There was a good turnout of local opposition councillors at the demo,however it was disappointing to note that Susan O keefe was conspicuous by her absence,she has been to the forefront of every photocall lately,any local dogfight or cat fight she's present.Fair play to Veronica Cawley,Marcella and Wee Jimmy McGarry who stood shoulder to shoulder with the protesters.

I could be wrong in what i am writing , i have been known to be wrong before .
However consider the facts , most people have gotten to the stage where they do not
seem to care about anybody but themselves , in their closed minds , and from past
experience's they too have gone without whilst nobody cared , it is probably to do with
the materialistic society in which we live & the old tried and trusted cliche comes to the
fore when the infamous sentence (s) are sprouted > ''Its nothing to do with me'' / '' its
none of my business '' , '' i dont want to get involved '' & so on .
We have become a Self preservation society , Like it or Lump it ; Sad but true .
The Sligo Workers Alliance are also holding a protest there from 7PM. Should be a good turn out
It is because the people of Ireland have stayed silent that Fianna Fail have brought our country to it's knees. They take no notice of any kind of protest because they know that they can do whatever they like and get away with it.
The health of the people is of no concern to them, if it was they would not have allowed Harney to ruin the health service for the interests of her wealthy friends.
WHY NOT CHANT SOME OF THE FIANNA FAIL SLOGANS FOR HIM RISE AND FOLLOW CHARLEY ( he is 6ft under) OR ALOT DONE AND MORE TO DO.
Best of luck to our friends in Sligo and the northwest with their campaign, they have stuck at it and they will get their reward. We will send a group to stand with you on Friday night.
