Come to the Mayday gathering in Mayo

category mayo | environment | news report author Wednesday April 27, 2011 20:05author by Rossport Solidarity Campauthor email rossportsolidaritycamp at gmail dot comauthor phone 0851141170 Report this post to the editors

Programme details

Come up to the Rossport Solidarity Camp Summer Gathering for the May Bank Holiday weekend to see for yourself what's at stake and learn more about the campaign.

The injustice faced by the community here is symbolic of the corruption and problems faced by people all over Ireland.

Come for a weekend of workshops & actions. Meet the affected community and hear their stories of resistance to Shell. See this incredible place and go on the Walk the Pipe tour. This will be a family friendly space with a kid's area.

Stopping Shell's proposed Corrib Gas Project would safeguard the environment, the health and safety of those who live here and the €600 billion oil and gas that should belong to the people of Ireland.

This will be a busy time for actions as Shell will be attempting to work on the pipeline so if you haven't been up to the camp yet, the gathering is a great time to get involved.

Bring your tent & sleeping bag. Food will be cooked collectively, donations welcome.

Transport is being organised from Dublin

Mayday gathering Sat 30 April -Mon 2nd May

Here is the provisional programme for the 2011 gathering.
We're asking 20-40 euros for the weekend. The entrance to the camp is on the back road from the refinery (gate 2) to Aghoose. (see camp website for directions). Camping is either on the camp or on a drier field opposite. There is no parking right next to the camp as the road is very narrow. So please drop people off & then park on the road with the Shell compound. (There is a lay by near the forestry).
