If we ever needed reminding about who comes first in relation to the terrible economic situation the country finds itself the ESRI article in the September 1st 2011 edition of the Irish Independent once again proves it.

If we ever needed reminding about who comes first in relation to the terrible economic situation the country finds itself the ESRI article in the September 1st 2011 edition of the Irish Independent once again proves it.

Partial quote: "Many economists think he (Mr Noonan) should go further to please the markets" Unquote: What an absolutely disgusting statement to make. We have been 'pleasing' the markets from day one of the crisis. How much more pleasing is required?

People should understand that economists bread and butter clients reside in the banking sector. Which is one reason why they will never suggest that the banks take a hit, or that we should default on the debt the country was tricked into paying.

The pain is not over by any means.
