It's time to investigate a link between Cancer rate and our Water supply.

category national | environment | opinion/analysis author Monday February 06, 2012 13:51author by Declan Cullen Report this post to the editors

CANCER RATE INCREASE AND FLUORIDE.

Is it not high time that we investigated the link between Cancer and the fluoridated tap water consumed in this country? Ireland is the only country in Europe that fluoridates it's water, and has the highest rates of Cancer in Europe. Is it not possible that Fluoride, which is a component of Rat Poison and a bi-product of the fertilizer industry, is responsible?

If you were found in the middle of a busy road with tire marks across your face, it would be correct to assume that you were run over by a car. Using that logic is it not correct that something like Fluoride in our nations water is responsible for the Cancer spike?

We are always told that our lifestyles are to blame, that drinking and smoking and the main reasons for the increase in rates. If that is so, how then does this explain the massive increase in Child Cancer? Surely that can't be blamed on drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco, can it?. What about the fact that we are seeing an increase in people who have never smoked OR drank. Smoking has been banned in pubs over eight years now and still the increase in Cancer continues.

People have drank and smoked for hundred of years in Ireland so the increase in Cancer rates cannot be attributed to these handy scapegoats. These spikes have been most noticeable since the introduction of fluoride into our water supply in the late 50's. Other overlooked possible contributors to the increases are the MSG in food, the Aspartame in Diet drinks and thousands of other foods, and the BPA in plastic food and drink containers, that leeches into the food contained within.

It's time to deal with the elephant/s in the room and stop blaming the old reliables or all our health woes as it's getting tired now.
An article about the increase was published in the Irish Independent on the 5th of February 2012. Here is the link to that article.

Joking aside, I actually agree with you declan. If people want to put fluoride on their teeth, they should be free to do so or not by the localised application of fluoride toothpaste to their teeth, and not by having it in all their water, hence having no choice in the matter. It's really a matter of basic civil liberties more than anything.

I'd be interested in knowing which company has the contract to supply the fluoride salts and how much it is worth per annum.

And if we MUST be mass medicated, aspirin would be a much better choice as it would help reduce the large number of heart related deaths by thinning our blood. Also less headaches!

The fact is, plastic leeching into our foods through can linings, plastic milk bottles, cups, food packaging etc and in general the insidious seeping and mixing of an untested cocktail of toxic chemicals into our bodies in the average household from birth must have its effects. The average kitchen has about 20 different cleaning products under the sink. Then there's the evil toilet duck and a bunch of other noxious chemicals in the bathroom.

As I am typing this, I am breathing in the chemicals used to clean my computer motherboard as the warmth of the processor gradually evaporates them. Thats mixed with the stuff evaporating from my new carpet pile. Then there's that recently painted wall. And the TV. My dry cleaned suit. Then there's the raincoat protector spray with those nano particles. Did you know they have been used in suncream for ages now. Of course my slow release deodourant also uses nano particles.

The list is endless.

Part of the solution is to eschew excess chemicals and use natural products to perform similar functions.
Coompanies like "Ecover" produce a range of environmentally friendly cleaners.
try to use soaps and deodourants that use few chemicals as remember you are putting them directly on your skin.
don't use washing up liquid. use elbow grease.
dilute teatree spray is better than dettol
reject plastic milk containers. (although even carboard ones have plastic coatings!)
use glass food containers instead of plastic for storage or cooking.
DONT use plastic for microwave cooking or baby bottles etc.
Google bisphenol a - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A for example

choose computer / electronic products with the highest standards regarding toxic chemical use. They are all pretty bad though. Ideally don't buy any unnecessary consumer electronics. sooner or later they end up leaching their payload into the soil somewhere, or slowly killing some poor indian kids.

lobby for higher / stricter standards on manufacturers use of environmentally harmful chemicals. raise awareness among your friends and their/ your kids.

lobby for cross country international standards that also apply in third world countries, as thats normally where corporations hide their dirty little chemical secrets.

sell any stocks you have in chemical corporations such as dow etc. they are evil.

buy stocks in companies who actually try to avoid destroying the environment.

Yes, All these little efforts add up but ultimately go nowhere in the end because the real elephant in the room is that corporations who produce all these little electronic, culinary and chemical "wonders" that are slowly destroying the planet are too big and powerful for any one government to tackle, (even if the corrupt little bastard politicians rejected their large "donations" and actually wanted to do so!)

Corporations have the rights of a human being. They can own property, do business, go to court, etc etc. The difference being
(1) they don't breathe the air, drink the water. have children, die of cancer, get sick etc etc.
(2) they only have one goal: maximise profit for shareholders. Its enshrined in law even

This means they don't care whether they turn the planet into a toxic soup of chemicals, as long as it's profitable. They don't care if they use up all the earth's resources to produce useless crap we don't need and pollute the entire sea (check out the pacific gyre!)
They'll spill oil and chemicals all over 500 miles of the US coastline then pay off some politicians to "make it go away" and they can actually do so successfully. They have the resources.
They can play one country off against another to reduce labour costs, weaken labelling laws (GM), weaken local environmental protections, all for the magic blackmail phrase of "creating jobs"

They'll be back doing it here again soon now that we're all scared and desperate and on our way to becoming a third world country and a pool of cheap labour again. gas Fracking is in, in fact any kind of dirty job creating industry is in. We dodged a bullet with that huge incinerator but mark my words, we'll be a target for a few dirty industries in the coming years. And don't expect pro business right wing politicians to protect you. They can retire on a large pension paid by you somewhere else where the air and water are clean and they have hospital services and an infrastructure.

These corporate entities are completely out of control, they control our lives and our governments, either directly or indirectly, they are carrying us careering towards environmental catastrophe and we need to rein them in or we are ultimately doomed.

Dr Samuel Epstein has predicted that cancer will be universal in the very near future! The current rates are 1 in 2 and rising quickly. Fluoride may be part of the problem. It is established the Fluoride does a lot of damage to the thyroid gland. It is a disgrace that our water is still being fluoridated. Levels of Fluoride vary as to your location on the water supply chain-so some may be getting huge doses.
Cancer is a disease of industrialisation and its incidence has skyrocketed in parallel with pollution.
Don't buy that 'cancer is a function of ageing story'. Look at the rise in childhood leukemia.
And don't even mention the so-called treatments. Chemo is dangerous and I personally wouldn't go near it, having seen it kill many people who were coping with cancer until the treatment. See Ralph Moss's 'Cancer is Business Not Medicine'.
Carcinogens are everywhere: in our toiletries, our water, our air, soil, food.................

It felt like cancer all week listening to de guvernment sponsored Irish Cancer Institute spouting their usual array of lies.

"It's cos we're living longer!"
>Erm, how do you explain away childhood cancers? Pesticides, Aspartame, Saccharin, Fluoride, processed meat and all the other crap the poor mites are fed. That's the reason!

"Survival rates are better".
>Are they really? And at what cost? Bodies ravaged by cutting, burning and poisoning, chemo which was originally derived from mustard gas. Docs noted that it killed off fast growing cells, so decided it would be beneficial for cancer. A cure is just around the corner has been the standard PR pitch used to pump money into the cancer industry.
New Treatments! Scientific Discovery! Genetic Breakthrough!
The slogans since 1953 to now are the same, they have lied to the millions of people who have died from cancer since then. And each year the rate of cancer is increasing.

But don't take my word for it! Here are two of the most famous scientists that ever lived opinions' of cancer research-

*Dr. James Watson won a Nobel Prize for leading the team that determined the double helix of DNA. During the 1970′s, he served two years on the National Cancer Advisory Board before resigning in frustration. In 1975, he was asked about the National Cancer Program. He declared, ‘It’s a bunch of shit. As for those claims of steady progress...the American public is being sold a nasty bill of goods. While they are being told about cancer cures, the cure rates [since the 1950s] average only about one percent.”

*Linus Pauling PhD, father of Molecular Biology, the only scientist in history to win two unshared Nobel Prizes, and the only scientist from the 20th Century to make it into New Scientist Magazine's 'Top 20 Scientists Of All Time'!
Dr Pauling is considered the "father of molecular biology", and is one of the most distuinguished research scientists in history.

"Everyone should know that most cancer research is largely a fraud and that the major cancer research organisations are derelict in their duties to the people who support them." -"Do not let either the medical authorities or the politicians mislead you. Find out what the facts are, and make your own decisions about how to live a happy life and how to work for a better world." - Linus Pauling

A survey of French Oncologists found that they would not have Chemotherapy if they were sick.
Check our Angiogenesis and Tumour Necrosis Factor.
Look at the recent Times feature on 'Mum is not having Chemo'. The work of Pauling should be on the school curriculum.

lets not throw the baby out with the (fluoridated) bathwater though!!

Sure in many cases, having chemo is useless and reduces quality of life. And it largely IS a proftable cancer "industry"

But look at the high profile case of steve jobs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs

if he had had cancer surgery for his cancer 4 months earlier instead of trying "alternative" therapies then he might have survived.

In the case of certain cancers, earlier action before cancer metastasises increases chances of survival greatly.

However I agree, fluoride should not be put in all our water. We are one of the few countries left in europe that still does this. toothpaste is all that's required if you want to protect your teeth from caries.

The relationship between exposure to carcinogens and getting cancer is statistical. if you expose millions of cells daily to lots of different carcinogens the chances of one of them getting it rises. Less carcinogens in everything I say.

Stop using all that toilet duck and cosmetic crap on your skin etc.

I must admit, the video above is right though. Makes no sense going mad about fluoride while smoking around your kids, drinking alcohol and eating / feeding your kids crappy processed food and using lots of other toxic products to clean yourself / them.

Stop all that first.....THEN complain loudly about the fluoride in the water. Otherwise the fluoride has already worked and you ARE stupid!!

There's no motivation for a cure as there is too much to be made in treatment.
Check out B17, IV Vit C, Coley's Toxins, Essiac Tea, the list is endless.
I am not saying that medicine doesn't have a role to play but it should be a much-reduced one.
Be very careful regarding biopsy and if your doctor tells you that you have 6 months to live, tell him or her they have one minute to live!

..seems to be that instead of using our taxes to provide health services, our political hookers are using the tax system to subsidise the sickness industry.

Its a siphon, like cutting services all round but subsidising business to 'create jobs'...doh..instead of sharing the work, cuttting the hours, and allowing us time to educate ourselves.....oh yeah...that would be a mistake, we might see what they're up to.

Monseur Guillotine, come home soon! Your planet needs you.

Here's a weird one:

whats the statistical likelihood of ALL these left wing leaders anti america all getting cancer? I bet it's pretty damn small!!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/dec/29/hugo-chavez...-plot

I don't see why a virus couldn't be engineered based on HPV or something similar to cause cancer.
