i had a community warden knock on my door asking for dog licences last week. Fine.... little did she know I have 3 snakes including one who is over 9 feet in length in my living room. No licence required there. i could just as easily have an alligator in my bath, with no requirement for a licence unless an endangered species and CITES listed. It is ridiculous to allow any importation of non-native species into this country with no regard to their welfare.
(my snakes are all rescues btw, victims of the exotic pet trade and the best that can be done for them now is to provide them with a safe haven and good care for the rest of their lives. they cannot be repatriated unfortunately..... I have looked into it.)
I've always wanted to say this to a woman . Make sure to put the lid down on the toilet after using it! Or else keep the bathroom door shut. Seriously, snakes sometimes creep down the toilet and end up in the sewers .
