Just to say thanks from Mayo Shell To Sea to all those involved in highlighting our plight, which is really the plight of every citizen if allowed to continue.
We're continuing our actions in the face of huge police presence. Before the latest operations there were 273 Gardaí in the Mayo Division (which includes parts of Sligo and Galway as well)... Tuesday morning saw that jump to well over 600, as peaceful protest became unacceptable to the state, and martial law was imposed in Erris.
As $hell would have it, this is how to conduct a project "in partnership with the local community"!!
In reality the community is an inconvenience to big business.
"An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"
Excellent photos Richard- much better than mine!
more protest's planned for tomorrow night- check the events listings for details- confirmed so far are Shell to Sea pickets/blockades at Statoil Ushers Island and Shell in Donnybrook and Glasnevin.
