Fran & Jane Go Fur-Free!

category dublin | animal rights | news report author Sunday October 22, 2006 16:29author by Laura Broxson - Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade (CAFT)author email caftireland at yahoo dot ieauthor address PO Box 4734, Dublin 1 Report this post to the editors

Trendy boutique Fran & Jane adopt a Fur-Free policy

CAFT Ireland have recently been doing a blitz on shops all around Dublin City- delivering our information packs to every shop that we find selling real fur items. Included in our packs is a pre-written statement of intention (to go fur free), which we ask for the shop to sign and post back to us if they decide on adopting a fur-free policy.

One of the boutiques we visited was Fran & Jane, of Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, where they had a range of Regine designer clothes with real fur trims.

We have just received a our pre-written statement of intention back from them (signed) along with a letter in which they say "we have now reviewed our policy on using fur in our designs and have now decided not to do this in the future. So, from next season onwards, there will be no fur used on any of our products."

They also went on to say "Apologies if there was any offence taken. This was an oversight on our part and trust that you will be happy with the decision that we have now taken".

CAFT Ireland is absolutely delighted by company Fran & Jane's decision, and will be sending them a thank-you letter shortly. So, from next season onwards, we encourage all our members to support this fur-free boutique!

Will you send the combat jacketed ,balaclavad baseball bat weilders around??
Or go and visit a single womans house and put paint stripper on her car, under the guise of animal liberation??? Have a good read on www.afar.org, ALF press releases.
Dont belive or give into animal terrorist intimidation tactics.

One day....soon

You really have nothing better to do with your life do you SADWATCH???
You should try to relax a bit, I recommend Tai Chi or Yoga.

It wouldn't occur to you that retailers are not made aware of the intense suffering animals are subjected to for fur by the fur industry?? No??
You don't think people can make their own mind up?? You don't think that when people are given information about the millions of tortured and murdered animals behind fur items that maybe they don't want any part of that industry??
If wouldn't be possible that ANY of these people have a cat or dog at home and can't stand the thought of it being their cat or dog being skinned alive for their skin?? No that couldn't happen could it?? Because EVERYBODY is as small minded as you!!

What about all the people who don't buy fur for ethical reasons?? What about all the fashion designers who refuse to use fur??
They all giving in to terrorism???
The truth is out there and as more and more people become aware of it more and more of them make ethical decisions.

Get over it Sabwatch.
