*UN Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

Event organised by the IPSC. There is no charge for the screening. However, as the IPSC is a voluntary organisation, all donations are gratefully received. IPSC Christmas cards will be on sale at the event.

Domhan Eile Media Project is a group of 6 students dedicated to providing information on topics of political importance such as the occupation of Palestine. Its first project took place over three weeks in the West Bank in June 2006. The group travelled around the West Bank, interviewed Palestinians, filmed protests and documented everyday life on the ground. Upon their return, they have been working on a written account of their experiences and the facts of the Jewish-Israeli occupation of Palestine and its Arab population.

The 30 minute documentary examines the impact of the occupation on Palestinian lives. The geography of the occupation exists in the presence of an 8m concrete wall, 100s of checkpoints, spontaneous road blocks and the basic lock down of the Palestinian economy. The documentary leads the viewer through a land, 1/4 the size of Leinster, speaking to Palestinian locals who endure everday abuse and humilation under the hand of the Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers.
