offsite link Why?s it so Hard to Get Electricity in a New Home? Mon Aug 05, 2024 07:00 | Ben Pile
When Ben Pile moved into a new house he got a nasty surprise. It had a prepayment meter that was about to run out of credit. Fixing this proved to be absurdly hard, which, presumably, is just what the green lobby wants.

Hull resident Dr Roger Watson has written an account of the rioting that blighted his city yesterday afternoon. He too has reservations about the number of asylum seekers being housed in Hull, but thinks that's no excuse.

Ironically enough, as you write the above is happening in Germany

14:45
60 - 70 people are blockading a Shell-Station in Evershagen. Nine police emergency vehicles are at the location, however holding back.

The idea loosly proposed was to incorporate an occupation of a shell petrol station into the end of the critical mass, seeing as there is a lot of shell to sea action and feeling already in the air. Why not let the critical mass end up in a creative blocade, and if people want to be theatrical and dress up, clowns and all, to imagine Dublin under the sea... well all the better to get the point across.

So above poster, will you be out on your bike, or you merely stir the shit?

May I suggest to anyone from "CIRCA" that they take their stupid clown arses and throw themselves in the liffey. What the fuck does dressing up as a clown (reinforcing the opinion most of the public have of you) have to do with cycling? Please, please piss off with your stupid, childish, empty dressing up gestures.

Perhaps a little Splish Splash Splosh'en could be done. As happened this time 2 years ago in a Shell petrol station, during the G8 when the clown army and friends payed them a visit to point out what they were doing to the people of Rossport: the Shell petrol station was temporarly turned into the "Rossport aquarium".....

Clownbatants from the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army (CIRCA) visited two petrol stations in Glasgow today to thank Shell and Jet for their contributions to global warming. They brought paddling pools, sandpits, and aquariums to the forecourts, to illustrate the effects of climate change.

this eve's critical mass theme is climate change- cycling underwater in 2050. goggles, snorkels, swimwear, armbands, inflatable rings and whatever you're having yourself.

i think critical mass is on this eve both to coincide with the G8 summit which is about to do nothing on climate change and because the Dublin bike couriers aren't free on the last fri of every month to join critical mass, cos have their own event.

see yus there,

liz
