A new report from the National Energy System Operator (NESO) shows that the UK could save ?350 billion by slowing down its mad dash to Net Zero. But it doesn't say how much more could be saved by abandoning it completely.

CYM Open Discussion Class on "The Role Of The Media"

category dublin | arts and media | event notice author Tuesday October 23, 2007 16:41author by Johnny H - CYM Report this post to the editors

There will be an open discussion meeting on "The Role of the Media" at 7pm in Connolly books on Monday the 29th of October.

The meeting has been organised by the Connolly Youth Movement as part of our "Working class school of politics" educational meetings which occur every two weeks.

This discussion meeting is on The Role of the Media. However unlike the other meetings when we recommended reading a pre arranged text before the class, we decided at the last meeting that for this meeting instead we'll do things differently. For this class, the idea is that all who are going to attend come up with several ideas of their own views on what the role of the media is in modern society beforehand and then express them at the meeting to open up the debate. This less rigid format of the meetings will hopefully make them more lively and interesting for those who attend!

Hopefully we'll see you there!

For more information contact the CYM general secretary, Gareth Murphy, on the following email address: connollyyouth@hotmail.com

And moved to the next week on monday the 5th of November at the same time in the same place.

Sorry again but with the bank holiday, too many people are away to make the discussion class worth holding.

See you in a weeks time hopefully. John.

Those attending are asked "to come up with ideas of their own"...err...isn't that against party policy? In the old days, Michael O'Riordan would've expelled you for bourgeois deviations like that. I suppose Eugene Mac prefers the Castro approach (benevolent one-party rule) rather than O'Riordan's preference for the Stalin way of doing things (non-benevolent one-party rule).

Are you guys ever going to learn? Stalinism is not socialism. It is a perversion of what Marx stood for.
