At the moment ÓSF are opposed to the legalisation of cannabis, although it usually features as a debate. and i know that one of the strands of thhis debate is to have a proper debate on drugs.
Good move, you seem to be a busy lot. I know yee have been invovled in Tara, Rossport, road safity, and many more issues. I was just wondering will OSF be opposing the upcomimg visit of Her royal High-ness. Do you as young republicans wish to protest at such a visit ?.
O completely agree witht the title of the campaign and the chosen graphic, however I feel any approach other than the legalisation of all drugs will only perpetuate the problems they can cause.
Whilst still illegal, supply and production will remain in the hands of unscrupulous individuals, the profits will remain incredibly lucrative and the quality of drugs on the market will be substandard and dangerous.
Only thorugh removing the attraction towards supplying the drugs, the miseducation that is rife in society and non-existant at youth level and the "head in the sand" attitude that pervades can we really tackle issues of abuse and the health and social problems that result.
Great campaign... good intentions. Hopefully will make an impact.
The Blanket is back and up and running. All young Republicans should log in, especially members of Ogra Shinn Fein. You'll learn something.
I am a Republican who is not supportive of Sinn Fein nor any Dissident grouping.
By the way I wish the members of Ogra well with their DRUGS AND ALCOHOL CAMPAIGN.
I wish the young people of Ógra well with their campaign to address the symptoms of social decay in modern day Ireland. However, the abuses of alcohol and proscribed drugs, as well as prescribed drugs, are merely that - symptoms.
The alienation and despair that commonly give rise to misuse are the inevitable by-products of a social and political system based on vast inequality of opportunity, greed, individualism, exploitation, cultural assimilation and communal fragmentation. It is well nigh impossible to tackle misuse without addressing the underlying causes of social disintegration?
The scale and impact of alcohol misuse puts legal and illegal drug misuse in the shade. Ironically, however, many drug and alcohol course attendees, full of reverence after a paternal lecture on the evils of drug misuse, often end up winding down in the evil dens of alcohol dealers.
It´s a great campaing.

Just say NO how original.
That will stop it.
The N.A.R.C campaign has great potential for a positive role in communities and broad engagement with drugs awareness groups.
"The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not sufficient warrant." mill
"This feature looks undercover at the drugs epidemic sweeping through Dublin and the impact ordinary Irish people are having on the drugs industry. It's an armed and dangerous anti-drug vigilante squad."
