Unlike Jeremy Corbyn, Keir Starmer has never described Hezbollah as his friends. But other than that, when it comes to Israel there is now little of consequence to differentiate them, says Stephen Pollard.

Is the 'Muslim vote' set to abandon Labour? With three quarters of British Muslims refusing to believe Hamas committed atrocities on October 7th, it's hard to see how Labour can retain them, says Frank Haviland.

Sinn Féin activists today protested outside the
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Northwood, Santry, venue of a Private Health
Conference which was addressed by the Minister for Health Mary Harney.
The protest, which was held at 8 am, highlighted Sinn Fein's
continued opposition to the ongoing sell off of the health service.

Speaking in Dublin today Sinn Féin Councillor Dessie Ellis said " The fact
that the Minister was recently too busy to meet with the nurses section of
SIPTU but is available to speak to a Private Health Conference speaks
volumes about the government-led push towards privatisation of the health
service.

"Myself and other Sinn Féin activists are outside this conference
today to protest on behalf of all victims of government policy
on healthcare. For eleven years a Bertie Ahern led government has failed
completely to reform the health service and provide a fair and equitable
system. Universal healthcare should be a cornerstone of any government's
policy. Mary Harney would be better off spending time with the workers in
the health service who are committed to making the system work, and should
not be cozying up to profit driven corporations.

Fair play to Sinn Féin for getting out on the streets and confronting Mary Harney and her ilk. Don't mind the begrudgers and the nay sayers lads. Keep up the good work!

one part of the establishment protesting anotehr part as the intial post points out this is outright hypocrisy.

Fair play to the protesters who got up early and made life a bit less comfortable to those who want to turn the health service into a profit driven business.

It's just sad to see that indymedia.ie is turning into a place for saddo keyboard republicans to spend their time attacking those who are active on issues like this. Maybe if Mary Harney had sought to put a jumpsuit on a statue we'd see some of these chancers actually take some action...
