O'Doherty and the Tin-Foil Brigade

category national | arts and media | other press author Monday January 05, 2009 18:48author by Ireland Branch - Muslim Public Affairs Committee Report this post to the editors

Ian O'Doherty tells the nation why Israel simply had to kill civilians, among his many reasons was the very sad tale of a Sderot woman who hadn't had a good nights sleep in two years - yep, a valid reason for good ole massacre.

In this world of opportunism, everyone and everything is fair game, ethics and morality are suspended, and nothing is sacred. On the back of this newfound liberty rides Ian O’Doherty, swinging away at everyone from women in wheelchairs to single mums and in his latest attention seeking installment he tries his hand at defending the murder of hundreds of innocent men, women and children.

Pure rubbish.
It doesn't talk about how the military dominate the social and political commentary in Israel. It doesn't mention how the military portray a truly dangerous threat to their existence. Whereas the truth is the opposite.
It doesn't talk about how the Palestinians were, quite literally, forced into such a position after decades of oppression at the hands of the military (including demolition using massive bulldozers), militant youths and the government, ie,, biggest open air jail in the world, control of airspace and sea as well as the apartheid walls and the crushing embargoes.....

This is the truth distorted.

As they have just said on RTE's Questions and Answers. Israel have a right to defend themselves. Look what happened when the Jews did not defend themselves in Warsaw.

What did Hammas think they were going to do when the lobbed rockets into Israel.

Sit and wait for them to kill and maim? It is just by the grace of God that large numbers were not killed during the 8 years they were being hit by rockets.

Enough is enough but it is just a shame that the suicide bombers of Hammas want to take the ordinary Palastenian women and children with them to their deaths and unnecessary suffering.

The blood of those killed is firmly on their hands.

The myth that Israel acted sheerly out of self defense is incorrect and very dangerous, it must be confronted, as is happening, so all become clear of the truth on who caused this blood letting. The figure now stands at Palestinians @ 900+ Israelis @ 6 (4 soldiers died in friendly fire) with no sign of let up.

Former President Jimmy Carter has denounced the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip. Writing in the Washington Post, Carter criticizes Israel for breaking the six-month ceasefire by launching its November 4th attack that killed seven Hamas militants. He also faults Israel for failing to uphold its commitment to ease the humanitarian blockade of Gaza.

I fully agree with Ian.
Hitler tried to wipe out Judaism during WWII and the rest of the world didnt pay much heed.
Since then they are incredibly focused on self protection and self defence. Unfortunately the best means of defence is attack, especially when your neighbours are Hamas who are intent on killing Jews, so much so that they think little of killing themselves or their children in the process.

Irish people have an aversion to any country that is strong militarily. If a democratic government kills a civillian there is outrage, if a civillian is killed in an act of terrorism nobody seems to care.

Hamas are showing the world what courage means. Any Israeli who had kin in the Warsaw ghetto must be wondering what are their leaders doing trying to emulate the Nazis.

Ian Doherty, John Waters, Kevin Meyers, Pat Kenny, Joe Duffy, Gerry Ryan, ....all opinion makers of the nation. Unfortunately they are in prime position to do their masters bidding. The new breed of Christian/Zionist extremist, fundamentalist bush lovin war pushers. They are the gate keepers of the US/UK Israeli/ propaganda machine, They take their leads from Fox, Reuters, Pentagon, Downing St. etc...all discredited.
Ian, fortunately for us, is as transparent as toilet paper, as are his arguments,. Giving him attention, or any of the above named is only fuelling the enemy,
As for Turbidy.......irrelevent is a word that springs to mind but it does not mean that they are fools and the job they do is not extremely important to those they serve hourly, daily, weekly year after year....
Hitler almost succeeded only for planning and propaganda failures,,,......these cons will also fail, their own sense of power based only on their own enormous ego.s and salaries (paid by us) and handing themselves awards and accolades as handouts, ....a complete nonsense.

Anything you need to know about Ian O Doherty is encapsulated in this sickening collection of words he puts together late in his article

--- The civilian deaths in Gaza are to be mourned, and anyone who says otherwise is reprehensible. But in a sick and twisted irony, they are mourned more by Israelis than by Hamas, who know that every dead Palestinian kid is worth another piece of propaganda. ---

In standard Western fashion he clears his conscience completely with a magic wave of his white European moral wand. Then with a sudden flash of supernatural character analysis he explains to us all , without a hint of humility, that he cares more about the dead of Gaza than do then men of Gaza. He knows! that the fighters who have taken up arms as police men and security men and soldiers for the Hamas Government lose all humanity merely by donning the uniform. Their dead children and parents are a welcome source of propaganda for them. They have no human emotions , they are insects without love and honour. 15000 - 20000 men who have no love for their families that can compare to the compassion of Ian O Doherty.

If you have time you really need to read this article in Ynet this morning :

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3654921,00.html

This person has written one of the most bazarre pieces of ethnocentric introspection ever conceived. The words say more about the moral malaise of Israeli society than any analyst could ever concoct. So many times does the writer glean optimism from the murderous actions of his government and the army that its hard to tell if the piece is not completely sarcastic . Unfortunately as you start to get through it you slowly come to realise that this guy is for real.
He seems to be of the opinion that because the soldiers are not beating each other up outside nightclubs or partaking in the wreckless abandon of previous campaigns (smearing their shit on family's houses) they have transcended the ability to do wrong. Its too crazy to explain , you just have to read it to start to understand the murderous fog that has decended on these people.

CRAZY 1 --- " Could it be that a society that does not excel in respecting others has, nonetheless, raised a generation of soldiers who all maintain strict respect for the dignity and property of Palestinians when resting in their bedrooms? " ---

CRAZY 2 --- " So, despite the fact that I have no (additional) reason to doubt that Olmert, Barak and Livni are three leaders of a different type, perhaps it would be worthwhile for us all to verify that “a redeemer has come to Zion.” Instead of talking about postponing the elections, why not hold them earlier? Everyone knows the candidates, the campaign propaganda is boring and another season of “Survivor” has already begun." ---

CRAZY 3 --- " All of them want Israel to persuade the world that the boss in the Middle East knows how to go crazy...... All of them are in favor of changing national priorities and assigning top priority to education."
