Ed Miliband is confident he's "winning the fight for Net Zero". His assurance is misplaced, says Ben Pile. It's based on a growth in 'green jobs', but they come at the cost of entire sectors in other parts?of?the?economy.

It is time for Burke to confess

category national | crime and justice | opinion/analysis author Saturday January 17, 2009 16:20author by Jim Bean Report this post to the editors

And give back the money he took from Shell.
Ray Burke
Ray Burke

Ray Burke must confess now as his health is deteriorating, fast.

He should give back the money he took from Shell, admit his guilt and let the people of Ireland have their proper share from the Corrib Gas Field.

Ireland needs that money from the gas field now as the Celtic tiger is dead.

The deal made by Ray Burke, which exempted the oil company Royal Dutch Shell from paying any royalties for the gas extracted from the Corrib Gas Field, has all the hallmarks of a corrupt decision.

Burke has admitted, in private, that he sold the exemption to Shell and that this was common practice by all ministers at that time.

He said “all the ministers, including the Taoisigh Haughey, were at it.”

This exemption should now be looked at again by the Irish government since the economic situstion in Ireland is so bad and Burke sold the gas exemption for a pittance.

Otherwise the Government, as part of their look at the economy for savings, must atke action against Shell.

For any of this to gain traction a nationwide campaign of advertising the relevant websites
must be undertaken. The website www.mayogasinfo.com is particularly important in this respect as it has basic as well as detailed information, information that has long since seeped out of public consciousness due to a MSM black out which is only lifted to spin a negative against Shell to Sea.

I hope we will go forth and multiply this advertisement.

That makes an awful lot of sense, there is not much point in having a website if no one knows about it.

The scandal of Corrib Gas, the Rossport 5, & the events in Erris deserves international coverage, as the campaign to save the Erris environment & justice in Ireland deserves support from people everywhere who are concerned.
