Jump To Comment: 6 5 4 3 2 1Reclaim Glengad beach, action against Shell in Mayo.After a busy weekend of actions and meeting at the June gathering at Rossport solidarity camp ,a final action was taken to remove a causeway built by Shell on the public beach at Glengad .
The video clearly demonstrates the overwhelming number of security employed by Shell to assist in the construction work at this site which is being deveoloped without proper planning permission in a special area of conservation which is or at least should be protected by law.

Well beaches should be about having fun in the sun.

Terrific action, all! There is no local consent to the theft of the public beach or the dangerous, polluting, raw gas pipeline.
When i saw the gates of compound open to reveal two large groups of private security trotting towards us in military style .Kitted up with big boots hard hats and heavy leather gloves ,I very nearly contributed in a very personal way to the pollution of the beautiful bay...
A magnificent evening ,a wonderful time in the water ...the security guards did look a little disappointed, although one of them blew me a kiss...But there was something in the way he did it...

It was great fun doing it. Good work out, and then we played elbow chasing and the evolution game in the water while the security officer roasted in their heavy uniforms in the sun. It was FAB. Get up there folks. I'm buzzing after the weekend.
Well done. Ireland is proud of ye, and rightly so.
