Plastic surgeons and orthopedic specialists from the UK are based at the Amal and Nasser hospitals in Khan Younis in the south of the territory.
Dr. Tom Potokar, a plastic surgeon specializing in burn injuries, has worked in Gaza 16 times but said this mission had revealed a level of destruction far greater than his last visit in 2023,

If you do you are labelled an extremist. However this out of control immigration is fully facilitated by the Irish government and the EU and the shady figure behind the Neo Con movement pushing for endless war, wokeism and globalist agenda.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5With a few notable exceptions, the Irish people are mostly too stupid and ignorant and poorly read to see or understand what is going on around them. They are easily influenced by soundbytes, or a few crocodile tears on RTE. They have swallowed wholesale all the vacant american propaganda fed to them daily about moms apple pie, celebrity and the american way. They drink starbucks skinny latte's and they think their own culture is passe. They believe in the illusion of capitalistic democracy sold to them every day through their telly. They think obama is "great". They watch american idol, x factor and coronation street in their droves and they think people who go out on the street and campaign for change are just a bunch of lefty hippies. They like nothing better than to get absolutely pissed and stupid every weekend and so do their kids in some loud obnoxious night club. There is a total culture of drunken stupidity and anti-intellectualism here. Everyone gets an education but nobody really seems to read properly Nobody wants to have a real conversation about their reality or get involved in changing anything. They just want to talk shite about football or celebrity or getting drunk. Many of them voted for fianna fail because they have a stupid respect for the "cute hoor" even when it was blatantly obvious that they would get screwed yet again. And they were. Do you honestly think such brainwashed people are ready to embrace full on marxism?? Get real. The best you could possibly hope for is that they get behind this campaign in erris because of their self interested resentment about the money it is blatantly stealing from their pockets. This is the selfish backward child molesting catholic priest protecting cowardly fucked up island of Ireland we are talking about here, not the very fed up long oppressed enlightened brave and politicised people of south america. Just a bunch of hardy but stupid gullible sheep on a rock on the edge of the atlantic. Face facts and get realistic in your expectations. even getting them to sign a petition against mass murder is like extracting a tooth. Believe me, I know.
Nothing will change until a lot of people on this island get really really hungry, but the fat cats will give us enough so that never happens all of a sudden. They know to boil their frogs very slowly.
I love this country, but it really breaks my heart and depresses me
The Shell to Sea organisation itself is small but the issue is huge. Marxists could have a stronger more independent vehicle of opposition than they currently have if they worked from outside the Shell to Sea group or even if they set up a front from inside. They can support the local campaigners while also carrying out their own propaganda and actions, sound in the knowledge that their ideological opposition is relevant up until the day a workers republic is declared and the natural resources come into the control of the workers.
Both éirígí and the WSM have been doing something along those lines with that particular campaign, supporting and being active within Shell to Sea while also ensuring that the larger issues such as 'the great oil and gas giveaway' and the arguments for nationalisation are also constantly raised around the issue.
does the wsm support the idea of nationalising the resources?
For the record, the Shell to Sea campaign has never had a 'Mayo' element (rather remiss of any 'Marxist' analyser); the local is, as stated by Maura Harrington in a recent letter to IT, a question of environmental injury and the national is a question of economic insult.
With current regard to the bona fides of the original poster, without a response to this post from redflag, one will wonder whether it's the type of red herring thread that bombed this time last year!
The WSM's qualified support for nationalisation of the Corrib Gas field is explained by this article from Alan MacSimoin in Jan 2008:
http://www.anarkismo.net/newswire.php?story_id=7198&lan...ge=en
Here is an extract that covers some key points:
"For the WSM, the important point is that if nationalisation were to be won by a large and active movement of working people, that same movement would have the will and confidence to force the government to spend at least some of the extra cash on socially useful projects.
It would be a small reform, and it would not be a secure one. The government and companies like Shell would be quick to look for ways to overturn the decision and privatise the new state company.
But it would be a reform, one worth supporting. By bringing together the questions of nationalising oil & gas resources and how the extra money should be spent, we move that little bit closer to asserting working class interests in opposition to the rights of property. And that’s pretty much it.
State ownership has nothing to do with socialism"....[article continues]
