A New Era? Nothing new under the sun

category international | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Tuesday March 29, 2011 10:54author by Arthur Óg Rimbaud - None Report this post to the editors

As society tears itself apart and reactionary forces come to the fore, well organised and confident of success. The left, the anti-authoritarians, the radicals and alternatives are in utter disarray. The only glimpse of light in the darkness of a seemingly overwhelming anti-liberation tsunami has been the acts of publicised resistance by the Anarchists in London and Greece. Although more spectactular pantomime for televison consumers. The mega machine of oppression remains intact and the negativity it creates in the human mind becomes overwhelming.

The era we are in is overwhelmingly reactionary. Negativity is the driving force and hatred is the engine, is it self-hatred? Society is being consumed by a hatred that is devouring all around it. Everyone else is to blame for individual woes. No one takes responsibility for their actions or inactions.

Common-unity (community) is abandoned in the frenzy to release the pent up tension of hate filled passions.

"Things fall apart the centre cannot hold, mere anarchy is loosed upon the world. The blood dimmed tide is looosed and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned. The best lack all conviction while the worst are full of passionate intensity". (The Second Coming, WB Yeats).

The victory of the forces of reaction is all around to see, while the self-proclaimed forces of resistance remain intact in ivory towers, pontificating on what is to be done. Before issuing another statement into cyberspace.
