Supporters of Shannon Defendants

category limerick | anti-war / imperialism | press release author Monday July 28, 2003 17:12author by Jenny Hannon - peace activist Report this post to the editors

A quick thanks to all peace activists and supporters.

On behalf of myself and Martin I would like to thank everyone who has supported us during our action and court battle.
If I have learned anything during these last few months it has been the value of support and solidarity. So thank you.
The fight is not over however and no matter how much judge Mangan trys to dishearten us we will keep going. As long as the irish government continues to facilitate this occupation and the killing of innocent people we will do all we can to resist and actively oppose them.
Personnaly I will be appealing my case and will go as far as I have to ,to recieve a fair trial and see justice being served.
Every person that has actively resisted the use of Shannon by foreign military are in the right and on the side of peace and justice. They should not be put off or disheartened by narrow minded (government appointed) judges.
I take this opportunity to call on people to lobby against Shannon being used by foreign military and using all non violent peacefull means to actively resist this.
Shannon is still being used, Iraqi people are still being killed and the Irish Government are still complicit!!!
