The power outage in Spain and Portugal wasn't caused by extreme weather, but by an over-reliance on wind and solar. If the UK continues on its headlong path to Net Zero, we can expect similar failures.

Why do we fail to deport those whom we should deport? It's due in the end, says Dr David McGrogan, to an excess of pity. We are pitying ourselves into disorder and social decay. We need to be willing not to be nice.

"Our actions will be organised non-hierarchically". What a load of rubbish. I've been on things like this before- "non-hierarchically", this means a tiny number of nameless, faceless arseholes control everything and let on everything is democratic and open. Its always full of informal hierarchy. Don't try and tell me than you won't plan your actions at all that everything is just loose and not planned/ structured what you will do. You will and one or two behind the scenes will make all the decisions. I'm all for organisation- open and transparent. You slag off leftist organisations all the time for controlling, etc. but you guys do it too. I've been there seen it myself! If you say "Our actions will be organised non-hierarchically" it seems to me that you somehow believe that we can't organise an event with structure and palnning without corrupt individuals controlling everything (hence your statement), so what hope you you guys hold for the future? Can society never be organised equally?? I'm confused- this is why I find this sort of political view point such a load of rubbish. Just my view, thats all I wanted to say.

An adaptation of 'Parcel of Rogues', if you have the Luke Kelly collection one original version is on it.

------

Parcel of rogues – at Shannon

Farewell to all our neutral fame
Farewell our ancient glory
Farewell to our anti-colonial name
So famed in martial story
Now planes come down o'er the Shannon sands
And Gardai patrol to the ocean
To mark where the yankees warplanes land
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation

What force or guile could not subdue
Thro' many warlike ages
Is wrought now by cowards few
For hireling traitor's wages
The English steel we could disdain
Secure in valor's station
But we are bought and sold for US gold
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation

O would 'ere I had seen the day
That Bertie thus could sell us
My auld grey head had lain in clay
Wi' White and rebel Connolly
But pith and power to my last hour
I'll make this declaration
That we're bought and we’re sold for Yankee gold
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation
