Jump To Comment: 6 5 4 3 2 1The Australian news program Dateline has aired video of US soldiers burning the bodies of Taliban dead, with the bodies facing Mecca. Such an action is deeply offensive to Muslims, who believe that a body must be buried within 24 hours of death.
The video by photojournalist Stephen Dupont also shows US troops broadcasting a message taunting Taliban supporters in a nearby village:
According to an SBS [network] translation of the message, delivered in the local language, the soldiers accused Taliban fighters near Kandahar of being "cowardly dogs". "You allowed your fighters to be laid down facing west and burnt. You are too scared to retrieve their bodies. This just proves you are the lady boys we always believed you to be," the message reportedly said.

The caption on the image is what one of the soldiers was saying as he watched the bodies burn.
I hope all troops make it safely home tothe US. Ireland hopes a safe return for you all. Ill advised and ill judged, you have paid the price enough. Safe home and take care.
