Ex-spy chief says Ahmadinejad is 'gift' to Israel

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Sunday August 24, 2008 18:24author by pat c Report this post to the editors

The ex chief of Mossad gives his opinion of Ahmadinejad. And it aint pretty! Ahmadinejads very existence makes it more difficult to build solidarity against US aggression towards Iran. Full text at link.

"Ahmadinejad is our greatest gift," Israel's Haaretz newspaper quoted ex-Mossad chief Ephraim Halevy as telling the US-sponsored Al-Hurra Arabic satellite channel on Tuesday.

"He only serves us. We couldn't carry out a better operation at the Mossad than to put a guy like Ahmadinejad in power in Iran," he said. "He unites the entire world against Iran."

Certifiable and weird indeed ! It goes to show how right wing Ahmadinejad actually is when even the fascist mullahs are getting fed up with him. The Third Camp has called for the expulsion of "President " Ahmadinejad's regime from international institutions ,for the ending of diplomatic ties with it and for the closure of its embassies everywhere. .Just imagine what the consequences for the region would be if this crazy man ever did acquire nuclear weapons .

In comments carried by Kargozaran newspaper, Khamenei also warned during a meeting with Ahmadinejad and his cabinet against undermining the government, which has faced intense criticism over inflation which has topped 26 percent.

Ahmadi-Nejad is certifiable. Now even Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is getting fed up with this lunacy. Full story at link below.

Iranian ‘cult’ of imam sparks controversy
By Najmeh Bozorgmehr in Tehran

When President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad launched Iran’s first domestically built telecommunications satellite into space on Sunday, he did so in the name of the last true Shia imam, Mohammed al-Mahdi.

The launch coincided with the end of festivities in Iran to mark the birthday of the imam, one of the holiest figures in Shia Islam, who is believed to have gone into hiding in the year 941 and will return to bring peace and justice to the world.

Every year, thousands of Shia Muslims flock to shrines to mark his birthday. In Iran, they head for the Jamkaran mosque, 110km south of Tehran, where the mystical Shia leader is believed to receive pilgrims’ written messages.

But this year’s festivities have proved unusually controversial because of claims that the imam is being exploited for commercial and political purposes. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, on Sunday called those who had “opened a business” and claimed to have been connected to the imam “liars”. Former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the current “fake” obsession with the imam had “misled millions of people”.
