Obama's Intelligence Services "of Change" = Just another Blair.

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Monday January 05, 2009 22:58author by scorchio Report this post to the editors

Obama who we note is not upsetting the inter-regnum by being presidential change boy when it comes to Gaza, has today named his future head of the CIA. That chap will get articles in the commercial press tomorrow and be assured a really high tech version of google earth after january 20th. But this article being of a tongue in cheek variety wishes to bring readers attention to Obama's appointee to be the director of national intelligence, a post created by Bush for Negreponte after Iraq which in theory allows one bloke or name to oversee the 16 US secret services.

Only one name could do that. yep it's another Blair.
trying to be creepy
trying to be creepy

You might have missed that so here it is again in bold type : Blair as in B - L - A - I - R

This one is called Dennis according to RTE and is a retired admiral of the US Navy and a former commander of US forces in the Pacific from 1999 to 2002 when (the stuff RTE doesn't tell you) the US Navy got up the Russian and Chinese noses by overflying & stuff.

anyway.

It is customary at these times to ask about Blairs in general : how many of them are there? what do they stand for? do they share any particular genetic defects? why have so many of them achieved such high office? do they carry reptile blood? & so on so forth.

To deal with the penultimate of those questions let us remind ourselves of the high hitting Blairs of the past.

1 - Eric Blair a.k.a. George Orwell who thought up Big Brother in the pre-colour telly days.

2 - Mr Blair who Blair house where all the guests to the White House in Washington stay was named after.

3 - Tony Blair the sociopathic man who transformed the Labour party from a movement to a sociopathic party & did for Catholic conversion what Jules Verne couldn't manage for the fathom. He also gave the name to his five lovely kiddies and his charming wifey.

4 - Sir Ian Blair - the Etonian educated former top London cop who as prime Plod told us Juan De Menezes was wearing a puffa jacket and asking to be shot in the head an indeterminate number of times. Of course the Etonian educated current mayor of London did for him, lest we forget the ex mayor London Ken the Red did not.

5 - Bill Blair the top cop of Toronto in Canada who never mentions if people are wearing puffa jackets coz generally they are, Canada being so cold - but nobody uses their guns.

6 - Bonnie Blair the Olympic Gold speed skating medalist.

7 - Hugh E Blair the linguist who invented the synthetic "interlingua" which though not as trendy as esperanto is mutually intelligible to all users of Romance langauges such as French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian, Romanian and Catalan.

8 -
6 & now.......... the theoretically highest official intelligence officer outside of the minute taker at priory of Sion tupperware parties - Dennis Blair or so as not to confuse him with Dennis Blair the baseball player or Dennis Blair the commedian - Dennis C. Blair. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_C._Blair

________________________________

q: how many of them are there?
a. it is estimated that there are close to half a million people with the Blair surname throughout the English speaking world. That's a ratio of about one Blair for every three score and field's full Byrne or an isle of Wight of Smiths or about one squillion Husseins.

q: Where does this genepool come from?
a: Easy - we did it in Ireland with a little help from the Scottish. Of the 430 distinct Blair family lines who have assisted a Blair DNA geneological project, "approximately 9% of traced their ancestors back to Scotland. Almost 20% have traced them back to Ireland. Approximately 2% of the ancestors came from Canada and England & the others couldn't trace their family tree anywhere outside of the USA because perhaps they were descended from slaves, illegitimate mammies or careless people who didn't keep accurate birth records.

( if you are a Blair you might like to partake in this DNA research but be warned there is not only a disclaimer of what they might do to your Y-DNA strands but a note of caution - "There is always a possibility that you could get disappointing test results. Samples that vary by three or more markers from the main group may do so for a number of reasons. One possibility is that they represent distinct lines either older or younger than the currently observed most frequent line. Another is that there has been a “non-paternal event” at an unknown past time" )

oh yes.

Would anyone expect Obama to end the wonderful new world order tradition of silly names for silly jobs? At least in Ireland we're safe from that crap. We vote and choose names like our own telephone book. No Banksy Moons for us at the UN, no Blairs doing oink duty keeping the peace.

What are we expected to read in to this appointment?

nothing. sweet nothing. no change. But what were we expecting?

did we really want a director of national intelligence of the USA with the surname Bono or Geldof ?

Coz at the end of the day no how high tech your google earth gets, how many languages your recruits and blackmailed slaves can handle or how much binary your tech wizards can sudoko without sweating - the job of the 16 US intelligence agencies (((how many can you actually name?))) is to cancel each other out. & the job of Dennis C Blair is to read the zeros. We grow the opium - we shift the smack - we burn the crops - we install the regmies - we topple the states - we talk to the martians - we arrest the venusians - we keep it all....

pit pat.

hope you're on to them.

The Obama / Clinton presidency has an acceptable human resource pool of less than 300,000 properly cleared or "qualified" employees within the "beltway" or pentagon to get the job. So why not a Blair? It's not like Blair is an antichrist name or anything.

"In Blair, Barack Obama no doubt saw someone who was, first and foremost, not involved in the Bush intelligence scandals — namely extraordinary renditions, secret prisons, and torture."

"The downsides to Blair's appointment are that there's little chance he'll lead the much-needed charge to streamline the intelligence community."

"Leaving Robert Gates at the Pentagon and appointing Blair as DNI is a pretty clear sign that Obama intends to live with the national security status quo."

On learning that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is The Quartet's "peace envoy" for the Middle East, I'm not at all surprised now that Gaza is ablaze.

What madness put such a corrupt and discredited despot into a job like this?

It really is starting to appear that Barak Obama, the self proclaimed Herald of change, is nothing more than a bum who is afraid to change his own shorts. The other day he was refusing to say anything about Gaza because America has a president and adding another voice might confuse the situation. Gosh, I'm confused I was expecting change.

Today... Barack Obama is till staying quite as a mouse in case confusion erupts but he had this to say.

" After January 20 I am going to have plenty to say about the issue,”

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticle08.asp?xfile=...=gaza

Well Golly Gee Barack, I'd bet the Zionist butchers are booking their plane tickets to South America in advance of that ominous date.

I have a simple question for Mr Change

At the current rate of slaughter in Gaza, there will easily be another 800 - 900 dead and a further 4000 -5000 maimed. Dont you think that the 800-900 who now stand condemned to death deserve to know what the hell you're going to eventually say on Jan 20. before they are executed ?

Dont you think you owe them that seeing as how they supported you so strongly in the election campaign. ?

It seems from the comments that I succeeded in reminding readers & even better informing others that it is indeed Tony Blair, the Blair - Blair who is the peace envoy to the Israeli Zionist state and the Palestinian territories.

Without getting boring

and reminding people of how back in the days before Olmert when Ariel Sharon and Yassar Arafat were with us - (before Arafat was kept alive till his death cert could be signed on the 11th day of the 11th month)

(& indeed before Sharon was not allowed die coz nobody could find a symbolic enough date for his death certificate & to this day he lingers in a coma and limbo, what I once quite properly termed as undead )

Nor about how Blair the Blair brought flowers to Arafat's grave and nodded his head a little and talked about a 2 state solution before Hamas got democratically elected or something and presented us with a 3 state solution instead..,

or more properly said the usual crap of one apartheid militarised state, which every decent boy and girl wants to go AWOL from, and one big prison camp and one little strip of waterless misery defined called Gaza

___________________________________________________________

Let's see how many people in the industry have reacted to Obama's Blair & other 16 agency appointments. Coz it aint just the CIA who fly those planes through our airports, knock up our passports, put spyware in our harddrives, earwig our calls, collate our SMS, weigh and measure our likes and dislikes, prepare our morning's telly, look down on us like angels from heaven, tunnel away under our feet like a sort of more efficient and better planned Dublin Port Tunnel or simply assess.

So far it's reeks of so much "non-change" : : it's really too good to be true if you have eyes to see (like your own ones).

They will go on recruiting you through computer games without you knowing it.

google and wikipedia are working

torture didn't. (oh that's supposedly a change)

and you still can't find a decent post graduate in Akhadian to tell you what was robbed from the Baghdad museum in that window between invasion and deployment.

job done no doubt. but there's no point in eithering torturing them or bring them to trial. Nobody goes to trial you know.

The 2010 US military classified budget estimates show (or rather don't show) that 50 billion will go to projects which get no meaningful name. It appears the overall black budget spending that is black enough to escape a name but still organised enough to be involved in legitimate tax raised expenditure (as opposed to dirty drug dealing - selling penis enlargers or holding the patent on velcro) is up 3% on Bush's last year.

the Pentagon’s secret operations, including the intelligence budgets nested inside, “roughly equal in magnitude to the entire defense budgets of the UK, France or Japan,” Sweetman adds. All in all, about seven and a half percent of the Defense Department’s total spending is now classified.

Of course as we know the Pentagon spends a lot of money publically and secretly and some of that money ends up putting food on tables of both highly qualifed academic professionals as well as more needy assembly line style workers some of whom might think they're only making inocuous kettles in Ireland. But they foolishly miss the role of that inocouos kettle spout or handle once assembled with the product of many other harmless factories.

we're talking death rays.

The US defence budget is the largest in the world when considered under any terms. Not even the Georgians who are second in terms of per capita spending as percentage of GNP can compare with absolutely humungous figures spent by the USA on ensuring it has the laser death ray cutting edge.

doubtless, many of you don't believe in the death ray.

But as we can see from this link http://www.defenselink.mil/comptroller/budget.html
: “Directed Energy Technology” (real-life ray gun research) up from $62.7 million last year to $105.7 million in 2010.
: “Prompt Global Strike Capability Development” up from $74.1 million to $166.9 million.
: high-flying Global Hawk drones get an extra $486.8 million and will thus upset less people.
: The Office of the Secretary of Defense is pushing $75 million in new alt-fuel and alt-power projects — from “Landfill Gas Energy Capture” to a “Tactical, Deployable Micro-Grid.” which sounds just so bizarre you'd probably discourage your children from showing an interest in such stuff.

wow eh - wow eh??? ............ any tinfoil hats?

and you thought it was all mutant genetically enhanced bald kids floating in swimming pools wearing the auld tinfoil hat .........The Maui Space Surveillance System gets a major downgrade, from $36.3 million to a mere $5.8 million.

are there any drugs?

President Obama’s fiscal 2010 budget will fund a major new spy satellite proposal, provide $2 billion in additional funding for Department of Defense surveillance efforts and increase spending on drug-related intelligence programs. Although most specifics of the intelligence budget are classified, budget documents provide hints of some priorities. the new “Imagery Satellite Way Ahead” program, a joint effort between the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Defense designed to revamp the nation’s constellation of spy satellites.

..........."The USAF plans to spend almost $12 billion on secret programs in 2010 - more than three Joint Strike Fighter development efforts - or just about 43 per cent of its R&D. Black-world procurement remains dominated by the single line item that used to be called "Selected Activities", resident in the USAF's "other procurement" section. This year's number stands just above $16 billion. In inflation-adjusted terms, that's 240 per cent more than it was ten years ago. On the operations side, secret spending has risen 8 per cent over last year, to just over $15 billion - equivalent to more than a third of Air Force operating costs. It is apparent that much if not all of the intelligence community is funded through the black budget: for example, an $850 million USAF line item is clearly linked to reconnaissance satellites."
