Stop the Slaughter in Gaza

category national | anti-war / imperialism | event notice author Wednesday January 07, 2009 18:29author by iawm - IAWM Report this post to the editors

National demonstration

Demonstration at Central Bank at 1pm and march to Israeli embassy

The Irish Anti War Movement is calling for the following;

*An immediate cessation of all military hostilities by Israeli forces and a lifting of the siege of Gaza
*Support the campaign for an economic, political and cultural boycott of Israel
*That the Egyptian government opens the border crossings with Gaza to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza and to allow citizens out
*That the Irish Government calls for the suspension of the Euro Med Association agreement that allows Israel favoured trading status with European countries
*That the Irish Government ceases all diplomatic relations with Israel
*That the incoming administration of Barack Obama radically changes course from the criminal foreign policy of George Bush that offers uncritical support to Israel’s military adventures and that have led to untold human suffering in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine.

We appeal to the Irish public to express their outrage at Israel’s murder of innocent men, women and children in Gaza by joining this protest next Saturday.
