From Mayo to Gaza

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Monday January 12, 2009 09:20author by Miriam Report this post to the editors

It's a gas story

Want to know why US/Israel is really invading Gaza? And why Lebanon will be next? And what do people in Bellanboy have in common with the invaded people of Gaza? An item of interest that is less discussed in the media amidst all their hysteria about Hamas, is the fact that there are considerable reserves of Gas off the Gazan coast line. And wherever there is gas or oil in this world, there is the US, their robber oil barons and their vicious war machine too.

The report (below) from Global Research is essential reading for anyone who has not been keeping up with the gas and oil exploration industry's activites in the region. Back in 1997, I think it was Donald Rumsfeld who said, during the setting up of the Project for the New American Century, 'once we've got our pipleline the Saudis can go fuck themselves'.

Arab nations currently appeasing US/Israel over Gaza have good reasons to be worried but even better reasons to seize the moment and try to put a stop to what is happening - or else, one by one, quite of a few of them are going to be picked off too. If US/Israel succeed in what they are doing, Israel will be positioned as one of the world's most powerful energy suppliers - but it can only be achieved at the expense of some of the Arab nations - Lebanon, Syria and Jordan and probably Saudi too.

Point of interest to note: the US/Israeli army is massing on the Lebanese border NOW and it is anticipated that Israel will shortly concoct another excuse to invade and finish off what Hezbollah successfully stopped them from doing in 2006.
