Imprisoning Palestinian Children
Stephen Lendman writes about the ongoing Zionist campaign against Palestinian Youth. Every year, approx 700 West Bank children, are arrested, detained, interrogated, and prosecuted in Israeli military "courts". About 6,500 since 2000. Full text at link.
In June 2009, Defence for Children International (DCI)/Palestine Section published a report titled, "Palestine Child Prisoners: The systematic and institutionalized ill-treatment and torture of Palestinian children by Israeli authorities."
DCI/Palestine "is a national section of the international non-government child rights organisation and movement (dedicated) to promoting and protecting the rights of Palestinian children," according to international law principles.
 Israeli soldier uses Palestinian boy as Human Shield. Since the 1967 occupation, an estimated 700,000 Palestinian men, women, and children passed through Israel's judicial system, over 150,000 tried in military courts from 1990 - 2006, the remainder handled through plea bargains for lighter sentences. On average, over 9,000 Palestinians a year are affected, including 700 children treated the same as adults.
For nearly 43 years, Israeli military justice operated "almost completely devoid of international scrutiny," giving authorities license to violate human rights and humanitarian law with impunity. As a result, due process and judicial fairness don't apply under a system denying them.

In the old city of Nablus, while searching her house, Dua’a (16) was ordered by Israeli troops to open closets and lift beds, while the soldiers remained metres away: “They moved three metres backward towards the door while aiming their weapons at me… They ordered me to search the closets and other items in the room.”
Sabri (14) was forced to walk in front of Israeli soldiers while stones were being hurled at them, during protests on the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day: “They were hiding behind me so I could cover them from the stones. They were shouting and saying in Hebrew ‘Throw! Throw!’ to the young men who were throwing stones.”
According to an article published by Maan News Agency, the Israeli army said it would investigate the allegations.

Slain Ramallah Youth; Shot By A Settler, Left To Die
Palestinian medical sources reported that Aysar al-Zaben, 16, who was killed on Friday, was shot by Israeli settlers in Wad Al Haramiyya area near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, apparently bled to death as a bullet struck him in the heart. Al Zaben, from Al Ma'sara Al Sharqiyya village, was shot and by a Jewish settler and was left to die.
Palestinian medics who were informed of the shooting by local residents searched the area and located his body three hours after he was wounded. After the body of al-Zaben was located and autopsy revealed he was shot by one live round.
The Israeli army only stated that "there was shooting in the area after stones were hurled at a settlers’ vehicle" on Friday evening at settler road number 60.
Meanwhile, Palestinian eyewitnesses confirmed that a settler stepped out of his vehicle carrying an assault rifle and chased several children while firing at them.
