The murder of children in Southport on Monday was horrific, and the riot the following day was outrageous. There are serious questions to be asked about the chaos in Britain and they must not be censored, says Claire Fox.

158 academics have signed a letter calling for NATO to admit Ukraine. But they don't address the crucial question of when Ukraine should be admitted: now, or once the war is over. Neither option is straightforward.

U.S Homeland Security directs Irish airlines to comply with new anti-terror law.

category dublin | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Thursday August 10, 2006 14:36author by gobsmacked Report this post to the editors

10am, New Directions enforced by Aer Lingus

At 10am this Morning U.S Homeland Security ordered Irish Airline: Aer Lingus to
comply with anti-terrorist laws, disallowing liquids on transatlantic flights.
The Irish Airport Authority complied.
There is no statement from the Minister for Foreign affiars as to the direction and how
it was relayed to the Airport Authority.

While Heathrow has cancelled all flights , new directions include making a mother carrying a child
drink from the baby's bottle , in order to prove that it does what it says on the tin.

Irish authorities have complied and there are queues at the airport.

all flights in London are cancelled for twenty -four hours.

No wonder stocks are plummeting.

Did Aer Lingus comply without the mediation of Foreign Affairs and how do these things
work?

A nation tells another how to run its business and it is acomplished without a by your leave.
Aer lingus, it seems does what it is told by the U.S.
