The summer in Mayo is under way and it's set to be a busy one. Come and be part of the resistance. So long as the work continues we will continue to resist it. We need as much help as we can get from anyone willing to offer it, therefore we will do our best to keep people up to date on the ongoing events. Below is a report on the ongoing illegal works in Broadhaven Bay and on Glengad beach, the Annual Solidarity Camp June Bank holiday Gathering, May 29th to June 1st, the courts, Maura Harrington's jailing and the oral hearing.

This story comes without a summary. It is indeed such a lengthy story that it could deserve the soundtrack of the popular movie "never ending story".

& So are you invited to read the main text or simply skip an opinion with what might pass for analysis and simply peruse at the Irish commission into inquire into Child Abuse Executive Summary of May 2009 the gist of which is being read more than U2 lyrics throughout the catholic speaking world.

On Saturday Afternoon, Galwegians and their friends from around the country and world, came together on newly renamed (by us), Anti-Shop Street, to take back our space from the capitalist, consumerist culture which has taken it over, with its bizarre ideas of a life dedicated to shopping, spending, buying and profit, so that we could share an experience of another world, where everything is free, people share and give food, fun, stuff and life, simply because they can and it just feels good! read full story / add a comment

The long running struggle in Erris (Rossport) against Shell's attempt to impose an experimental gas pipeline on the local community has erupted in recent days with repeated local direct actions against the compound Shell are trying to construct. Meanwhile the state, at the behest of Shell, continues to press vindictive prosecutions against local activists. Back in March retired school teacher Maura Harrington for jailed for 30 days, today the state returned for another pound of flesh and she was sentenced to another 7-10 days in Mountjoy prison. At very short notice over 20 activists from Dublin Shell to Sea gathered at the prison gates and showed their outrage by blocking the entrance of the prison van containing Maura in to Mountjoy for about twenty minutes. read full story / add a comment

Does Peter Murtagh have a relationship with the PR department of Shell? Do Conor Lally's "security cources" wear blue uniforms? Why has no one been charged with the break in on the Shell compound where someone supposedly started a digger and tore down a fence? Did anyone take a picture of this attack? Why did the security guards run away? How is that the security guard with the injured arm has never been named nor photographed? read full story / add a comment

Dublin Shell to Sea are delighted to invite all our supporters to enter our second Revolutionary Kick-Off, a five-a-side soccer tournament. While teams are generally based on involvement in political campaigns or organisations but its not in any way essential and individuals are very welcome to register and play on a S2S team. Apart from raising much needed funds for Dublin S2S, the tournament promises to give all participants a great day out and provides lefties with an opportunity to engage in some healthy competition away from the ballot boxes. :) read full story / add a comment
