Recent riots in Bangladesh between Muslims and Buddhists. Argues that Muslim anger is best directed towards supporting an ethical approach to human rights, development and globalization for World Peace - it would replace neoliberalism whose many human rights omissions are seen as the underlying cause of much conflict more so than any religious differences. read full story / add a comment

A crazy man addressed the United Nations yesterday, he seemed to believe that Iran posed a nuclear threat to world peace. He appeared unaware of Israels possession of up to 400 nuclear warheads while Iran has zero. This crazie is threatening to plunge the Middle East into War. Full text at link.

In a bellicose speech before the United Nations Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded a “red line” be placed on Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, outlining a plan of action that would lead to war next year, if not sooner. Employing a crude cartoon drawing of a bomb with a lit fuse, Netanyahu said that action to physically destroy Iran’s nuclear program would have to take place before the uranium enrichment process began its final stage, which he claimed would happen around the spring or summer of 2013. “The hour is getting late, very late,” he declared. read full story / add a comment

These are the only two choices for the global elite as history does not lie. Every time through whatever devices or vices the oligarchs lead the charge to the levels of debt that now exist in the governments, local and national, in the middle and working classes, in banking and investment institutions and it becomes impossible to unwind the debt without impoverishing the majority of the populations in the respective communities, the choices of action become very stark and narrow and are quite literally Debt Forgiveness or Death read full story / add a comment

No diplomacy from Obama, its election time, so its also time to threaten war against Iran.He ignores the fact that inspectors have found no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and of course he ignores Israels possession of 400 warheads. Full text at link.

President Barack Obama postured before the United Nations Tuesday as the champion of peace and democracy, while threatening war against Iran and demanding a crackdown against the wave of anti-US demonstrations that have swept the Middle East. This, Obama’s fourth address to an opening session of the UN General Assembly since taking office in 2009, was saturated with hypocritical invocations of “American values” and lies about Washington’s actions on the world stage. read full story / add a comment

On September 21, forty years ago, President Ferdinand E. Marcos declared martial law. For almost 13-and-a-half years afterwards, the country suffered terribly from a brutal and corrupt dictatorship. Among the victims of the grave violations of human rights under martial law were the following: 3,257 “salvaged” (summarily executed), 35,000 tortured, and 70,000 incarcerated, as documented by historian Alfred McCoy. read full story / add a comment
