Terence Wheelock was taken into custody on the 2nd of June 2005. The twenty year old man left Store Street station in a coma never to recover from the injuries that he received there and died in September 2005. His family is still waiting for an adequate explanation for what happened on that day in Store Street. The Gardai claim that Terence’s injuries were sustained while attempting suicide but the Wheelock family have disputed this and have launched a high profile campaign for an independent inquiry into Terence Wheelock’s death. read full story / add a comment ![]()

This morning with the arrest by the Spanish Guardia Civil of 6 individuals in Barcelona the far-left terrorist organisation "Grapo" who were responsible for 75 murders has ended. Sympathisers with terrorist organisations in the Spanish state are far and few between these days, but the news might be of interest to their long-standing associates in the IRSP and INLA who often used this very website to call for solidarity and seek signatures on petitions amidst talk of "show trials" & the like. Sadly however the people of Catalonia and the Spanish state may not look forward to a society without mindless and arbitrary violence as the terrorist organisation ETA which broke its ceasefire with the murder of 2 Ecuadorians at New Year has declared a return to war "on all fronts" read full story / add a comment ![]()

On Tuesday morning, June 5th, a team of five protesters and their support crew successfully halted Shells operation in Erris for five hours through the use of "lock-On" arm tubes. The blockade ended with the five being cut loose from each other by the fire brigade and arrested whilst a crowd of around thirty people cheered them on. Shramore is the final stop on the peat haulage route from the site of the proposed gas refinery at Bellanaboy. Terence Conway of Shell to Sea in Mayo who was present at the protest said "this is an outrageous deal, the government has consistently put out myths about the benefits of this project for the people of Ireland. There are no benefits of this project for the people of Ireland, there are no royalties and all tax is cost deductible which means that Shell, Statoil and Marathon benefit from the deal while the people of Ireland don't benefit at all. This deal needs to be renegotiated immediately". read full story / add a comment ![]()

Five people locked themselves together in front of the Sramore peat deposit site. The site is used by Shell to deposit peat excavated from the Bellanaboy refinery site near Rossport. The gardai dragged several supporters away by the hair and eventually removed the protestors with the aid of the Fire Brigade. The site was succesfully blockaded for up to 5 hours. read full story / add a comment ![]()
